I’m Adriaan Labuschagne, a Cape Town-based director, photographer and cinematographer working across cinematic stills, brand films and narrative shorts.
I’m currently developing my next short film after my first short, Baleka, won Best Student Film at the South African Independent Film Festival. My aim is to create visually distinctive South African stories that can live both as strong films and as valuable creative platforms for aligned brands.
My work naturally connects with brands in the outdoor, fashion, automotive, travel, gear and lifestyle space. I’m interested in collaborations where a product, location or brand world can be integrated with taste and intention — not forced into the story, but placed where it genuinely belongs.
As a Sony FX6 and FX3 shooter, I work with small, focused crews and a cinematic, practical approach. I’m able to create high-quality moving image and stills content around a production, giving sponsors more than visibility inside a film. The collaboration can also generate campaign assets, behind-the-scenes content, editorial stills, social media cutdowns and brand-aligned visual material.
I’m looking to partner with sponsors and collaborators who want to support independent film while also gaining access to cinematic, emotionally grounded content with a strong South African visual identity.
